Frida
This mornin’ Frida came to me
Kissed me on my cheek
She said, “You know I love you, babe
But the city’s killin me
I have to leave
This just don’t fit like it’s supposed to.

I guess I was a product of divorce
No one could hold me
Although I’d like it if you’d show me how to stay,”
She pleads,
But all I say is,
“Do I know you?”

As all these insides fall to pieces
Eagles spread out on the highway
Recruiting new believers
Searchin’ through her screamin’ eyes
You know, if she goes by once she’ll haunt you so

Why don’t we talk about it, reason through or listen to our friends
Hold our insides on the outside or this is where it ends
I owe my gods an explanation, owe them more than that
I had to know I’d go not looking back...

This mornin’ I saw Frida standin’
Like a desert apparition
She’s bruisin’ my horizon
Searchin’ through the coffee lines
I know, she comes by once to haunt you so

Coffee burnin’ on the desert floor
Lost in these horizons, scour evermore
Stare
Hopin’ Frida’s there

Why don’t we talk about it, reason through or listen to our friends
We could hold our insides on the outside or this is where it ends
I owe my gods an explanation, owe them more than that
I had to know I’d go not looking back...

All your notes are on horizons
See your footprints in her eyes
You’re holding on to long goodbyes and freezin’

All day long you’ll long for reason
Can’t find nothin’ like that here
So go back to the place she came
And speak your name

And we’ll talk around it
As she’s holdin’ out
You know, one day she's up and gone
So cool...

This mornin’ I saw Frida standin’ there
Oh but there she goes again...
