HOW TO BREATHE, 2006 "After hopscotching through musical genres, Dave Golden found his voice through the simple accompaniment of an acoustic guitar. His style is reminiscent of Jeff Tweedy, Sean Kelly and early Bob Dylan, but ultimately - gratifyingly - he is no one but Dave Golden." - David Muller, Williamette Week, Portland, OR

On a chilly night in the foothills of Austin, TX, Dave Golden sat in the back of a beat-up white tour van, playing his guitar and harmonica. A few feet away, with an old mixing board, Taylor Davis ran a live mix. There were two microphones inside and a longhorn skull wired to the grill... How To Breathe was born that night -- a tough, dark, honest, raw and tender collection of live one-takes. There are no overdubs and no effects on this record. In an era when technology and fashion dominate the music world, here is an intimate and honest portrait of an American songwriter, recorded in the early am hours of a stiff February night.
If you like the work of Leonard Cohen, Lloyd Cole or Bruce Springsteen's landmark album, Nebraska, you might just love How To Breathe.

All I Never Wanted is a collection of vignettes from his score for the award-winning short film, Sometimes the Neighbor, and a 2003 demo tape, originally intended as a guide for other musicians to re-record Golden's songs. In a June 2004 showcase, however, Golden was encouraged by musicians and managers to "get out from behind the scenes" and perform his own works. All I Never Wanted was never given a formal release and was only sold at shows and through a handful of vendors. It is currently out of print, but the shops to the right may still have copies. Track Listing: All I Never Wanted * The Night Is Young * Move * Vignette I * Vignette II * Vignette III * Vignette IV * Salty & Worn
