2004 was a landmark year for Dave.
His first six months on the road...
With a slew of 70 or 80 new songs...
The beginning of his relationship with Nashville...
And Indianapolis...
And New Orleans...
Some good shows, some good songs,
Some good press, some good times...
It ain't so bad out there...
Thanks for stickin' with us!

12.14.04 Thanks, See You in '05

  • Thanks to everyone who came to the last show of the tour! Recordings of the show are available. Email liveshows (a) davegolden.com to get a copy.
  • New website features are en route...
  • There will be a few shows here and there, but early 2005 will be focused on the new record. Pre-production sounds amazing! We can't wait to put this out for y'all!

11.4.04 The Record Begins Now. We've chosen a producer for the debut album and we think there's something special brewing... Bob Johnston's produced some of the truest American music ever made: Dylan's Blonde on Blonde, Simon & Garfunkel's Bookends and Leonard Cohen's Songs from a Room are just a few examples. As we move from gestation to release, Dave'll document the journey in a weekly column on www.feelinganxious.com.

9.12.04 Messin With Texas is a worthwhile endeavor. DG's been bringin' the good word to the Former Independent Republic of Texas. Current proposal: a national referendum to expel Texas from the Union, thus making the Bush family migrant workers. A set lists page is up now for the summer tour.

8.30.04Louisiana Style Cutting Edge Music Conference and Roots Music Gathering was my first time down in Louisiana. I'm a lifetime lover of jazz, zydeco and dixieland (all art forms that originated down here) and considered it an honor to be invited down for Eric Cager's annual event. The music has been a blast. They know how to live down here! Two New Orleans shows down, two more to go! Wednesday night at The Columns with local bluesman Chip Wilson and then at the Mermaid Lounge. By the way, check out this band, LUZER. They're from Jersey, though I first heard them at the Cutting Edge this weekend. Great fun!

8.18.04 Encore Indianapolis Show With Friends The Midwest Music Summit was fantiastic, as was the Indianapolis music scene. Discovered some great musicians, like the lovely Shelley Miller from Chicago. My Sat night showcase went great and they asked me to play an encore Sunday morning show, so I did. With Ms. Miller and Mr. Birnbaum sharing the stage. Nuvo Weekly gave the show a rave review , calling it "a highlight and perfect end to an amazing weekend of music." Thanks!
Lo-fi bootlegs: Sat night, Sun night

7.13.04 Cat Power, KRS-1 & Dave Golden Dave has just been invited to showcase at the Midwest Music Summit in Indianapolis on Sat, August 14th. Past showcase artists include KRS-1, Cat Power and Juliana Hatfield.

7.11.04 Comin' on Home... After a whirlwind tour of the South and a helluva good time at Diversafest, it's time to come home. Shout outs: for the OK/TX folks watch out for Travis Kidd, a super-fun picker. And NY'kers, check Danelle Manthey whose upcoming photography exhibit will feature Dave and a host of other NYC characters.

6.22.04 Dave Golden goin' Yokohama! No, wait, it's Oklahoma. Diversafest has invited Dave to play the DoubleShot stage as part of their annual music festival. Catch him at 5:30 on Saturday, July 10th! And thanks so much to everybody who made this past June in California so wonderful. Dave will be back in CA this Fall...

6.9.04 Happy birthday, mom! And big thanks to everyone who made last night such a success! I'm lovin' the love in California. Tour Diary and Lyrics pages will be up soon. In the meantime, looking forward to the next few gigs...

6.3.04 LA Debut @ Molly Malone's There's a really big show in LA this Tuesday night. At 8pm, I'll be playing a showcase at the legendary Molly Malone's! I'm super excited and can't wait to see you all there! And, my lovely computer people have put some of the live tracks from last week's show in this online player - check it out and expect a lot more where that came from...

5.28.04 My First Barfight Show! Thanks to everyone who came out to last night's acoustic set. Thanks to Jeremiah Birnbaum for playing a great show with me. Thanks to the three dudes who started the fight at the bar. ("Rock n Roll!") Thanks to The Brown Trousers, whose set we all enjoyed. Especially that song "Dive In." Cali news to come...

5.7.04 The Future of My Music Back from the Future of Music Summit. Hello to all the new folks from DC! Tracking for the new EP is underway and there may be some new folks joining the team. I've put an mp3 of an a work-in-progress track from this album here on the site...

4.20.04 All I Never Wanted I've taken the remaining copies of the All I Never Wanted CD and autographed them. They're available at Tower Records and CD Baby. That's the end of 'em!

4.14.04 The Future of Music? I just learned that the Future of Music Coaltion is giving me a Musician Scholarship. That's very cool of them. Thanks, FMC!

4.2.04 We've lost a great one. The wonderful writer, wit and uncle, Peter Tauber, is no longer with us. There is a memorial website set up at www.petertauber.org
